Siti Khadijah Grand Market / Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah

The original name of Siti Khadijah Grand Market was Buluh Kubu Grand Market. However its name was changed by the Chief Minister of Kelantan, Y.A.B Tuan Guru Dato Nik Abdul Aziz Bin Nik Mat as a sign of respect for women, considering the majority of its traders are female. One unique sight in the markets of Kelantan is that its traders, who are mostly female, are famous for their enthusiasm to do business. 

This market is four-storey high and octagonal in shape. The basement specially caters for wet items such as fish, vegetables, poultry and others. The first floor then is set aside for dry food such as serunding (coconut shredding), which is a very famous Kelantan food item. Others such as ayam percik, ikan percik, nasi kerabu, nasi berlauk, nasi dagang, laksa and somtam are amongst the most famous dishes for the people of Kelantan. Kelantan's traditional delicacies such as tahi itik, akok, jala mas, buah tanjung, serabe, tepung pelita and many other delicacies are also sold here. The second and third floors are for non-food items. Each morning it is the main heartbeat of Kota Bharu's business activities. 

The name Siti Khadijah was in honour of the name of the wife of Prophet Muhammad PBUH who was also a successful businesswoman. The smorgasbord of colours, aroma and a noisy atmosphere paints a picture of the variety of goods being sold. Many types of goods are sold including food, vegetables, fish, poultry, clothes, spices, handicrafts made of copper and silver and many more. This market starts as early as 6.00am up till 7.00pm. All the shopkeepers will stop all business come prayer time for 15 minutes. This allows all visitors and shopkeepers to perform their prayers. 




Pantai Cahaya Bulan 

Moonlight Beach is amongst the must visit beach in Malaysia. Pantai Cahaya Bulan (formerly known as Pantai Cinta Berahi / Beach of Passionate Love) was believe to name by a lovelorn British soldier during the World War Two. Till today, there are some locals still prefer to us the old name. It has a beautiful long and wide sandy beach, a popular spot for family outings and picnics. It also have a variety of water sports and horse riding. There are some food stalls and restaurants along the beach, which offers fresh barbeque seafood.

Tok Bali Beach / Pantai Tok Bali

Tok Bali Beach is famous for its own specialty. It is not only the focal point for locals but a must for tourists to enjoy the beauty of the beach at Tok Bali. There are many houses or beautiful resorts along the coast such as Tok Tok Aman Bali Beach Resort, Villa Danialla and so on. In addition, for the people who work as fishermen, Tok Bali is a place for them to make a living as it is widely known for their arrest can bring profit to the fishermen. it is a tourist attraction to come here because of the many selling various seafood. 


Pantai Sabak 

During the Second World War in Malaya, Pantai Sabak recorded a number of significant historical events of our country. Pantai Sabak located in Kelantan, a state in the northeast of Malayan Peninsula, was very strategic indeed.  Due to this reason the British built strong defence forts at Pantai Sabak, as the main base in order to prevent enemy advance from the sea. Today the remnants of Pantai Sabak fortifications can no longer be seen as the beach has been eroded and are submerged by the sea. 

Pantai Sabak Fortress engraves the memory of many hardships for people of Malaya during the Japanese occupation. Despite the pain, however, there is a blessing in disguise, since the Japanese occupation had riled up the national spirit and self-reliance among the Malay community in the country. 


Gunung Stong State Park

Gunung Stong State Park (GSSP) is a forested area, totaling 21,950ha with several prominent mountain peaks. The area is of outstanding beauty and is home to one of the highest waterfalls in Malaysia, the seven-tiered Jelawang Waterfall. 

The rugged landscape of GSSP offers many exciting adventures for anyone who loves nature and the great outdoors. GSSP not only has important eco-tourism values but also serves as a significant conservation area with rich flora and fauna diversity.

Animals such as the Asian elephant, seladang, great argus pheasant, Malayan tiger, serow and tapir are known to roam the forest in Stong. With the assistance of a qualified and knowledgeable trekking guide, your exploration of GSSP will be made more meaningful as interesting aspects about the biodiversity of the area are pointed out. The Bogo Rock Shelter, a cave- like formation, is a suitable resting point on the way to the summit of Gunung Stong, which can be reached within four hours of trekking. Meanwhile, Gunung Ayam, the highest peak in the area at 1,504m, is an ideal spot to catch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. A campsite is available for overnight stays. Visit the breathtaking 225 million-year- old limestone caves at Dabong that house several bat species and rare flora, including an endemic balsam. 


Jeram Linang

Jeram Linang is one consolation forest recreation areas and famous waterfalls in Kelantan. Linang rapids located in Hutan simpan Ulu Sat, in Machang, Kelantan.  History this palace, Jeram Linang is among the earliest waterfall area awoken as people crowded recreation area in Kelantan.


Jeram Pasu

Jeram Pasu is being one consolation forest recreation areas and famous waterfalls in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan.  How to come here, Jeram Pasu  is located approximately 8 kilometers from the  Kampung Padang Pak Amat, Pasir Puteh Road - Kota Bharu. 


Istana Jahar 

Istana Jahar / Jahar Palace. The palace used to be the royal residence in Kota Bahru. It was built back in 1855 by the Sultan Muhammad II of Kelantan for Long Kundur, his grandson. Today, the palace is the house of the Museums of Royal Traditions and Customs of Kelantan. Another place to visit would be the Pintu Gerbang Kota Sultan Ismail Petra. This arch was built to commemorate the declaration of Kota Bahru as a cultural city. This was to preserve the Malay culture. The move was spearheaded by Sultan Ismail Petra which the arch was named after.


Balai Getam Guri /  Handicraft Village and Craft Museum

Also known as Balai Getam Guri, the Handicraft Village and Craft Museum is located in the heart of Kota Bharu's cultural zone, within walking distance from the Istana Balai Besar and Buluh Kubu Bazaar. The Craft Museum houses many fine examples of Kelantanese craftsmanship. A restaurant called "Balai Sulur Gadung" is located on the ground floor of the building, where visitors can savour some of Kelantan's famous dishes. 

The adjacent Handicraft Village provides visitors the chance to see just how these crafts are made. Demonstrations of traditional embroidery, songket weaving, batik printing, silver work and wood carving are carried out by skilled artisans. Their products are also on sale at the centre. The museum is open from 8.30am–4.45pm daily (except Fridays). 


Galleries Tengku Anis

Galleries Tengku Anis Built in 2002 and opened in 2004. Galleries are located in Golok River. inside it houses the fishing gallery and information center Estuary terrain. It is also suited to students who wish to study and to get information about things related to fishing.  The gallery is also suitable for recreational areas such as infrastructure for the kids, fishing and is also suitable place for picnic spot. The recreational area is also available for visitors .




 Wat Photivihan Place

It is the most famous Buddhist temple in Kelantan. It contains the biggest statue of the Reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia. The statue - which measures 40 metres long, 11 metres high and nine metres wide  was completed in 1979. The main attraction here is the sitting buddha which is believed to be the second largest in Southeast Asia- 30 metres high and 47 metres wide, 43m Standing Buddha, every year month of November the largest festival ever happen in Malaysia is Loy Khatong festival (festival of lights). Every Buddhist from Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Others come here.


Beijing Mosque

Chinese Mosque at Rantau Panjang or Sultan Ismail Petra Silver Jubilee Mosque and Beijing Mosque  is a Chinese-style mosque in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, Malaysia. 


Istana Balai Besar

Istana Balai Besar / The Grand Place is a single story palace built by Sultan Muhammad II over 170 years ago, as the official residence of past sultans. It is believed that bullfights used to be held in the palace for official Royal ceremonies until mid-1900. The palace is now used for official state functions and is not open to public. Another palace built by Sultan Muhammad II is the Jahar Palace (Istana Jahar). It was built for his grandson, and it was built up from wood, furnished with unique wood carvings. Kelantan is known to be the most religious state in Malaysia and Islam has a strong influence in the people's daily lives. Museum Islamic (Muzium Islam/Dewan Syurga) is known to house many Islamic artefacts and it definitely explain how Islam come.


Muzium Diraja Istana Batu

Muzium Diraja Istana Batu / The Royal Museum was built in 1939 under the reign of Sultan Ismail I of Kelantan (1920-1944), as a wedding gift for his nephew Yahya Petra (1960-1979) whom was the eventual successor of Kelantan. It has a pale yellow structure and served as the palace for crown's prince. It was then donated to the state and now it's open to public for viewing. The richly furnished rooms will give you a glimpse into the past royal life.
